Of the Wild is our Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool program for five age groups: Evergreens, Ferns, Acorns, Pinecones, & Willows. Wee Wild Ones developed our Of the Wild programming to expose children to experiences in nature helping them grow, develop, and learn through an inquiry-based approach.
Our curriculum organically stems from educators acting as researchers and observers alongside the children, purposefully planning future learning opportunities based on their unique questions, interests, and needs.
Inquiry promotes differentiation in learning and allows children to demonstrate their thinking at a rate that is developmentally appropriate for ages 3 to 5 years. Families have the flexibility to choose 4 or 5 day full-time childcare for their child, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
We believe all children develop at their own pace; children do not need to be potty trained to join the preschool program.

Our program fees vary per centre based on prior funding from the Province of Alberta’s Affordability Grant.
As of September 2026, the province will not be issuing new daycare centres funding under this grant. This does not affect centre rates at locations that qualified before this cut off date.
Optional Supplemental Services
Childcare providers may offer additional optional services beyond the core program costs, such as transportation, field trips, or meal plans, for an extra fee. Participation in these services is entirely optional, and clear guidelines will ensure equitable access for all families.

What’s on the menu?
We offer a full vegetarian menu based on the Canada Food Guide requirements and standards. Children with allergies or dietary restrictions, such as gluten intolerance, will be given alternative food choices (to the extent that we can accommodate).
Milk or water are offered at each meal (infants and toddlers receive homogenized milk, and children three years and up receive 2% milk). Our centres are a nut-free environment.
